My name is Ashley Paramore.  I am twenty-two years old.  I live in the small town of Sylvester, GA and I have lived there my entire life.  I have two brothers.  My younger brother is nineteen years old and my older brother is thirty years old.  Yes, that leaves me as being the only girl and the middle child.  It is not as bad as it may seem.  It's actually nice.  I am my daddy's pride and joy and I have two brothers who are my bodyguards.  I graduated from Worth County High School in 2002.  After graduating high school, I attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and received an Associate in Science degree.  At this present time, I am attending Valdosta State University pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.  I plan to receive my Bachelors degree and then continue my education to get my Master's degree in Special Education.  I am not married nor do I have any children but I do have two dogs.  Their names are Jazmine and Buster.  I attend Isabella Baptist Church.  I am very active in my church.  I work in the church nursery, teach discipleship training and sunday school, and work with the praise and worship team.  When I am not at school, I work at Health Plus in Sylvester.  I love listening to music, spending time with my friends and family, watching football (GO DAWGS!) and going to the beach.

There are many reasons why I want to become a teacher. I know that teaching is a very rewarding occupation. There is nothing better than seeing a child leave a classroom knowing more than what he or she did coming into the classroom. Seeing a child learn and improve is amazing. Teaching requires patience, caring, and understanding.  I feel that I possess all of these qualities.   I want to be able to make a difference in someone's life and what better opportunity than to be a teacher. Being a teacher would give me many opportunities to make a difference.

I was not necessarily inspired to teach by a certain person. I think I was more inspired by   wanting children to want to go to school.  I always hear children say that they do not want to go to school.  They do not like their teacher, they think that it is too hard, or they say it is boring.  I want children to be excited about school.  I want them to realize that school does not have to be boring.  Learning can be fun and exciting.   When children are excited about school, then they will be more apt to learning.  They will want to learn more and more.  Being excited about school is extremely important.  I only hope that I can be a teacher that helps her students love school.
