My name is Heather Renee Wrye. I am 29 years old. I am married to Donald Raymond Wrye Jr. and, we have three children; Kamie 4, Daniel 15, and Austin 11. I was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia and am the younger of two children. My hobbies include swimming, skating, listening to John Mayer. I enjoy going on vacation with my family, and my favorite destinations are Daytona Beach, Florida and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where I was married. I am an avid animal lover and I have one dog, I would describe myself as very family oriented. I enjoy spending time with my husband, my children ,my parents, and my sister and her family. We are all very close and, that is something that I value above all else.
I am often asked why I want to be a teacher, and I suppose the main reason is to show children learning can be fun and meaningful. As a student who has been in school for close to twenty years, I have been subjected to many different kinds of teachers. A few of those teachers made sure I was prepared to succeed academically, but more than that they cared about me and what my life was like. I want to return the favor and say thanks by becoming an educator like that.
Who inspired me? Obviously, the wonderful teachers I have had over the years played a huge role in my wanting to become and educator, but my mother and sister inspired me the most in other ways. My mother taught me to never be intimidated by hard work and to go for what I wanted in life with passion. As a future educator, I know the never quit work ethics my mother instilled in me will carry me far. My sister has also been an inspiration to me. She started Nursing School for the first time when she was thirty years old and had a family to care for. I admired her so much for her sacrafices and finally decided to follow in her footsteps. The road to my goal has been a long and winding, but I have never looked back.
