Why is it important
for you to learn about how our government works? Because in one year or
less you will have the right to vote. You need to be an informed voter
to be a responsible citizen. Certainly I encourage you to exercise one
of the most important rights you have as a U.S. citizen; to vote.

Our
founding fathers envisioned a government that would keep tabs on
itself. They did not desire to return to the tyranny they had
experienced under England. This is the reason they decided on three
branches. This way each branch could check on each other.
