| Expected Outcomes: Participants will demonstrate the following: |

Discuss the role of community in fostering American democracy, |

Identify the skills and strategies for citizen problem solving in our schools, communities and workplaces, |

Conduct research on a community social problem which identifies relevant community based organizations and governmental agencies tackling the problem. |

Develop strategies for more effective partnerships between government and community based organizations, |
5. |
Use traditional and web-based research to identify community based organizations in policy areas such as education, health care and welfare. |
