FOREIGN EXCHANGES AND STUDIES ABROAD With the encouragement of VSU administrators and the staff at the VSU Center for International Programs, I have had the opportunity to participate in two faculty exchanges in Russia, China and Hungary. I have also taught in the Euoropean Council's 2004 and 2006 Summer Studies Abroad Programs in London. Presently I am recruiting students for another return to London summer 2008. I can honestly say that these exchanges have been the most inspirational career experiences I have had to date.
In today's world, the American people are experiencing many more cultural challenges - both at home and abroad. Because of this, it is even more important for us to understand other cultures first hand.
Taking the initiative to study or teach in a foreign country is an an enriching experience
on various levels.
