We're going on a shape hunt! Let's go
on a walk around the room, to find shapes. Help me find one of
each shape... one square, one triangle, one circle, and one
rectangle. Anywhere and anything in the classroom if it's a shape
point it out!
I'm going to give you a cut-out of each shape. You can use these cut-outs when you find "real life" objects in the shape of a square, triangle, circle, or rectangle. Next, we are going to walk around the room, with your cut-outs in hand. As soon as you see an object that is in a shape we learned, hold up the cut-out shape that goes with the shape of the object. Let's go shape hunting!
Group One:
1. Your paper will have 3 columns: Shapes, name of shape, and matching shape from the room.
Group Two:
1. Your paper will have 3 columns: your drawing of what you found in the room, name of the shape, and your drawing of the actual shape.
