From
the Gung's Family -- Wishing you and your family many
blessings in the new year. Some news and pictures below to
keep in touch! Ya'll be sure to come and visit us anytime
of the year!
New Hotel Opening in Spring
We have just acquired a shipment
of hotel furnishings from mainland China for our brand new
hotel: Garden Villas. Oringinally an abandoned
motel eyesore on Ashley Street, the Garden Villas and Plaza
Property was acquired by Mike Gung and his sister, Nancy
Leung in 2002. When Alice Gung graduated from GaTech in
Industrial Engineering, she came home in 2004 to join her
father in managing the refurbishment and renovation of this
property. Half of the property was turned into a shopping
plaza, and the remaining half is an upcoming efficiency
hotel that will serve the surrounding area of Valdosta State
University North Campus and South Georgia Medical Center.
Many Valdostans look forward to its grand opening in the
Spring. Please feel free to visit us if you are stopping by
South Georgia anytime, and let us know so we can make
special accomodations just for you!
International Cuisine & Buffet
May Gung is keeping busy running the Marco Polo Restaurant
serving Valdosta since 2002. Courses include
fine international cuisine such as Asian sushi and stir-fry,
American rotisserie and grill, Cajun-style steaks, local
Southern Seafood items, European pastries, and other ethnic
world dishes. Thai cooking is soon to be added to the fare.
Some of the popular entrees include: Catfish & Grits,
Kim-chi, Beef Stew, Grilled Italian Pork-chops and BBQ Roast
Baby Back Ribs and Alaskan King Crab. We change our menu
daily to cater to your tastes. The Marco Polo buffet also
offers South Georgia one of the largest and most
elegant buffets imaginable. Click

Tae-Kwon-do & the YMCA
This year, our family resolves to
stay healthy for the new year. Michael Gung is enjoying his
weekly lessons at the White Tiger Martial Arts Academy as a
brown belt in training. Meanwhile, May Gung and her
daughters are keeping fit at the YMCA taking yoga lessons in
the morning and jogging to the neighborhood park at
night.
Family Fishing at Suwanee River
Mike Gung has been humming that
Suwanee River tune for years. Finally this past summer, the
Gung's family were invited by family friends to Suwanee,
Florida and stayed for 2 days at a river house on an old
historic creek. The family went in-shore fishing all day
long. Fresh bass, a turtle and plenty of crabs were
caught. An fun family vacation recommended to anybody who
visits the Deep Sunny South.
Got Columns?
In an attempt to retire from
the business, Mike Gung is selling some of his contruction,
building and warehouse stock. We have plenty of Greek and
Roman style columns for sale at unbeatable prices. Call
229-245-9219 for more information.
