Valdosta State University
Hey my name is Erin Kaiser, and I am currently a student at Valdosta State University. In my future, I plan on being a Television News Anchor to follow my dream. Currently I am majoring in Mass Media/ TV Broadcasting at Valdosta State University. I plan on majoring in Communications as my second major because I want to ensure that I have a good future. I love attending Valdosta State University. I decided to attend this particular college because I have the Hope scholarship and the school is nationally recognized for having a wonderful Mass Media program. I also have always loved the beach so of course, I love the palm trees and only being an hour from the beach. Valdosta is a smaller town than I am from so it is nice to have smaller classes so I can get the best out of my college experience. I am from Atlanta, Georgia and went to Walton High School. My high school was the third best high school in the nation. I have a sister who is currently attending nursing school at the University of Kentucky. I have wonderful friends and family that keep my life interesting and fun!!
The Freshman Year Experience Program
Your Freshman Year Experience at Valdosta State University is critical in laying the groundwork for a successful academic and professional career. Employers view a well rounded successful academic career as evidence that students can be equally successful and productive in their chosen fields. Success begins by mastering the three principal tasks of the first year student:
I took the Freshman Year Experience class as a Freshman and loved it. I liked this class because it gave me an opportunity to fit into my college and get to know all the ins and outs of school. If I had any questions about advisement or parking tickets I knew where to come ask. This class was a great experience that I would not change for the world. I got to know my classmates and my teachers very well. I am currently continuing on to my sophomore year of college, and I still use a lot of skills I learned being in the Freshman Year Experience program.
