Welcome to Mr. Chitwood's class page of history. I teach US History at Wilkes Central High Home of the Eagles in Wilkesboro, NC. Wilkesboro is located 30 miles east of Boone, NC at the edge of the Appalachian Mountains. Wilkesboro is home to Merlefest and original home for Lowes hardware.
Before
we can learn about US
History let me tell you about my self. I am a native of Georgia,
I lived there from birth till I was twenty-two years old. I am
attending Valdosta State University where I am pursuing a Graduate Degree in
special education. I obtained my bachelors degree in history from
Emmanuel
College in Franklin Springs,
GA. I have been married for 11 years to Heather and have two
beautiful children, Isabel (5) & Gabrielle (3). I enjoy
watching movies, watching sports, and playing golf, tennis, and baseball.
In my United States history class we explore what made us the people we are today. My 11th graders are preparing themselves for a future in which they have the ability to shape history for themselves and the Americans they share it with. In our class we study such events as the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
