The percussion faculty at Valdosta State University want to invite you to be a part of

in the area of percussion. Consider the following advantages of percussion study at Valdosta

1. Individualized private lesson study with two experienced professional percussion
teachers and performers who emphasize all facets of percussion performance while allowing
students to develop skills in an individual area of interest, including
both jazz and orchestral studies.
2. Opportunities to perform with many and varied ensembles including the Blazin' Brigade
marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble, jazz combos, Valdosta Symphony
Orchestra,
choral organizations, percussion ensembles, steel drum band, musical theatre, and opera.

4. The opportunity to perform on top-of-the line professional equipment, including
a set of Dresden timpani
made by The American Drum Company, and numerous quality keyboard mallet
instruments such as an artist four octave rosewood xylophone a beautiful five
octave marimba.

schedules of our our own VSU ensembles.
6. A nationally accredited Department of Music that offers student centered degree programs
and an extensive schedule of workshops and guest clinicians throughout the year.
We offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, a Bachelor of Music with majors in
Music Education and in Performance, and the Master of Music Education and the
Master of Music Performance.
