David Morris has taught percussion at Valdosta State University since
1985. Dr. Morris holds the Ph. D. in applied percussion from Michigan
State University, the Master of Music in Percussion Performance from
East Carolina University, and the Bachelor of Science degree in Music
Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His percussion
teachers include F. Michael Combs, Harold Jones, Mark Johnson, Salvatore
Rabbio, Mark Yancich, Jim Atwood, and Cloyd Duff. Dr. Morris has served
on the faculties of Limestone College, Michigan State University, the
Governor's School of North Carolina, and the National Music Camp at
Interlochen, Michigan. During the summer months, Dr. Morris has taught percussion and music
theory for the Governor's Honors Program of Georgia, and has been a frequent clinician
for that program which is hosted at Valdosta
State University.
Dr. Morris currently is Principal Timpanist with the Columbus
Symphony Orchestra, the Macon Symphony Orchestra, the Valdosta Symphony
Orchestra, and the Central Florida Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Morris has held
principal timpani positions with the Asheville Symphony, the Lansing Symphony,
and currently performs as a substitute timpanist with the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra. He has performed as percussionist in orchestras in Charlotte, North
Carolina, Savannah, Knoxville, and Oak Ridge. At VSU Dr. Morris coordinates
percussion studies, teaches applied percussion lessons, conducts the Valdosta
State University Percussion Ensemble, teaches Percussion Methods, Arranging, and
second year Music Theory.

Paul Campiglia has been a faculty member of the VSU Music Department since January 1994 teaching applied percussion,
directing various ensembles (Jazz Combos, Steel Band, Percussion Ensemble), and teaching in the Pedagogy/Methods and Humanities areas.
He has also served on the faculty of Darton College, Albany State University (GA) and Rowan University (NJ). Mr. Campiglia has
performed throughout the Eastern U.S., Europe, and South America as a jazz artist and clinician. In addition to performing with the
VSU Faculty Jazz Combo, he has performed with the Georgia Jazz Combo and as a freelance artist with various jazz. latin, and world
music groups.
Mr. Campiglia is currently serving as Principal Percussionist with the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra. He has also held principal
percussion positions in the Albany Symphony Orchestra (GA), Central Florida Symphony Orchestra, Bridgeton Symphony Orchestra (NJ),
and the Garden State Pops Orchestra. Mr. Campiglia has served as a section percussionist in the Holly Bush Orchestra (NJ) and the Westmoreland
Symphony (PA).
