Co-author Kent Moore, a fan of Elvis's music since 1961, owns about 150 albums, tapes, and CDs of virtually everything that Elvis has recorded. Below are ranked lists of Kent's favorites in 15 categories, with no overlaps in these lists. The final list of overall favorites is comprised of songs from five different categories.

4. I Really Don't Want to Know - Elvis breathes fire into the Eddy Arnold classic
5. His Hand in Mine - title song of his first full-length religious album, sung with reverence and sincerity
