Procedures
Step One: Introduction
Working with whole class, explain to students that they are going to use the Promethean Board or SMART Board  to learn about things that stay in the sky and things that return to the Earth.
List 2 or more questions that introduce students to your Mini-Research Lesson and will establish a connection to students' prior knowledge.
1. "What are some things that you have seen in the sky during the day?and "What are some things that you have seen in the sky at night?"
2. "Can you name some things that are in the sky and don't come down? "  
Explain to students about the special Mini-Research Lesson that was made for their class.

Step Two Teaching the Primary Learning Outcomes
Teach the content relevant to the primary learning outcome:
This Mini-Research lesson will be taught using the computer and the Promethean Flipchart or SMART Board software. This is an interactive lesson.  There are three content information pages with educational links and three interactive activities pages for the students to complete.  Brief explanation of what the class will do during Step 2: ____________________________________

Check for understanding before going on.
Students with teacher assistance will explore, discuss the content information, and complete the interactive activities in the Mini-Research Lesson.  Numerous questions for understanding will be asked throughout the lesson.   Below are examples of questions of understanding for each of the content pages.

The Mini-Research Lesson is a guided practice lesson using the Promethean or SMART Board.  Students will complete interactive activities developed from the information and the educational links on the content pages, which will provide practice and feedback.
