Finding
Out Topic for your Field Class Lesson
Discuss
with your mentor teacher a topic that would enhance the
curriculum
for his or her students. Explain to your mentor teacher the
description
of a Topic Mini-Research website and activity. (Description
below.)
Description:
The Topic Mini-Research Website that you
will develop will be an educational and fun website with connecting
resouce links and an activities for elementary students.
The activities and lesson plan will be related to GPS Standards and
integrated subject areas, such as science, math,
social studies, language arts, and art. Examples
of topics (www.valdosta.edu/~djudd/topiclinks.html)
previously selected by teachers and developed by VSU
preservice
teachers.
       
Topic Mini-Research Lesson
Your
lesson will include working with 2 or
more students at your field experience school.
Be sure to have your lesson plan approved by your mentor teacher before
teaching your technology integrated lesson. You
will explore your topic related links on your website with
your students, then you will
do the activities that you have developed with your students.
Bring
the students' work from the activities back to VSU and scan their work
(be sure students' names are not on the scanned products) and add them
to your lesson plan website. Save and
bring the elementary students' products to share in the VSU
class.
E-Book Lesson
Your
E-Book lesson will include working with at least 2 students at your
field
experience school. Be
sure to have your lesson plan approved by your mentor teacher before
teaching
your technology integrated lesson. After
teaching your lesson, add your reflections, students' evaluations, and
scanned products (be sure students' names are not on
the scanned products) to your lesson
plan Web page. Save and
bring the elementary students' products to share in the VSU
class.
