How To Make Your New Class Page With
Mozilla's SeaMonkey
Composer
Open Mozilla's SeaMonkey (If you need SeaMonkey, you can download
it for free at www.seamonkey-project.org/releases
Be sure to download the complete program that includes the Composer for
publishing your web pages.)
Select: File
Select: New
Select: Composer Page (this will open a
blank
page
to create
your new web page)
Create Your New Web Page (SeaMonkey
Composer works a lot like the MS Word program. You can
write, add pictures, add links, etc. See the The
"How To" Table pages for additional
information.)
After you have worked on your page and ready To Publish then:
Select: File ---> Publish As....
Publish Window opens (See example below)
Select: SettingsTab - See example below
(Note: The
Setting Window will always have the same information everytime
you publish)
Site Name: (fill in) Grits
Publishing address: (fill
in exactly) ftp://www.valdosta.edu/./public_html
HTTP address of your
homepage (fill
in) http://www.valdosta.edu/~yourusername
User Name: (your user name)
Password: (your password)
Select: Publish Tab - See example below
Site Name: Grits
Page Title: (give
your page a
title)
for example: My Class Page by Diane Judd (be sure to
include your name in the page title, because the search engines will
use it for search information)
Filename for example: class.html (Need to be
sure you do not have another page already published as class.html on
the VSU server. If you already have published a class.html page
then you can name it another name that you have not used.)
Check box: Include
images and other
files (if you have added
images)
Select: Use same
location as page (if you have added images)
Select: Publish (bottom
of window)
Now you have published your class page. If you
named your class page: class.html, then you can find it on the Internet
at: http://www.valdosta.edu/~your
username/class.html
