Class/Home Page Assignment

 It is Important to be Creative and have Well Organized Web Pages
I. Design of your Class/Home Page around a theme & include:  
A. Class Page Theme Title (Step Into Wendy's Class Strawberry Patch; Welcome To Lisa's Lilly Pad Lane Class Page; Ms. Smith's Beachy Waves Class Page; Schools are for Fish Too, Welcome to John Smith's Web Class Page)
         1. Sub-Title under your page title "Designed by Your Name"

B. A Total of 17 Pictures for your Class page theme pictures and/or pictures of yourself for your page  (5 pictures main part of page + 6 pictures on Information Table + 6 pictures for Resource Table = 17 total pictures)
      
1. Five pictures main part of page: One large main theme picture (not a small picture distorted by stretching) at top of page (under page title); three (minimum) or more theme pictures or pictures of yourself on page; and one small picture/icon for your email address

Six small pictures on Information Table (see below)
      3. Six small pictures on Student Resource Table (see below)


C. Interesting introduction paragraphs with 5 (minimum) or more links. Present your information in three or more paragraphs (include 2-4 sentences in each paragraph).   Your paragraphs should include:
   1. Hyperlink and tell something about your connection to Valdosta State University (http://www.valdosta.edu) & Early Childhood & Special Education Department (http://www.valdosta.edu/coe/ecre) (2 links & information)
   2. Tell about & link to one website about your special interest, hobby, and/or special website (1 link & information)

      3. Tell about & link two educational websites that you find useful and you would recommend for teachers and parents.(2 links & information)

E. Student Fun & Educational Resource Table
        (Below see example of Student Fun & Educational Resource Table)
(This is a resource table for your practicum students in grades pre-K through 5th grade. Since you will use this table during your practicum, you will need to include a variety of educational levels in your table, for example: reading could be lower elementary level, and social studies could be 4th - 5th levels.) 
    1. Add titles with a picture for each of the 6 content areas
: Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, & Music).
    2. Link
a total of 6 quality websites or educational videos (It would be best to have some of your links to educational websites and some to educational videos.)  that you have evaluated to be educational and fun for students.  One educational website or educational video in each of the 6 areas: Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, and Music.  See "How to Evaluate Educational Websites" Video.   You can use search engines on the Internet for content educational websites.  Yahoo Kids! is a special search engine to find websites for children. See WatchKnow educational videos for students. Web page for list of resources for searching educational websites. (Below see example of Student Fun & Educational Resource Table)
          a. Educational links should be websites or videos that you have evaluated that will show students can gain knowledge from these websites or videos. 
          b. Educational links should be age appropriate for students from Pre-K to 5th Grade.
          
c. Be sure your link opens to a page that students will know what to do on that page.
          d. Every link should be from a different website (do not have links from same main website, you can tell because the URL will begin the same)

F.Text Size, Color & Print Font  
   1. Easy to read text (use large size print font for children to read)
   2. Use easy to read text color and a different color text than link colors
   3. Hyperlink text colors- use different font colors for the before and after visited links
  
4. Enhancing background (difficult to read: red text on blue background & blue text on red background)
   5. Be sure to check grammar and spelling
   6
. Organized information & pictures on a creative web page

G. Your email address & icon at bottom of page
   1. Linked & write out your VSU email address with icon (small email picture)
