This website gives the students an opportuntity to live the life of a colonial kid. This gives the students a "real life" connection.

History Detective
This website allows students to become a history detective. The students go back in time to collect clues and uncover answers about colonial life in the 1700s.

This website the students can step into the daily life of children during this time. The students can see schools, clothing , and other things that this time period had.

Interactive Farmscene
This website contains a farm scene from the colonial period. The students can click on a scene and the learn about what is happening in the scene.

Lesson Plans on Colonial America
This is a great resouce for teachers to use to incorporate the Colonial America into daily lesson plans.

1. Go to Life of Colonial Kid website. The student will step back in time and discover how school was in the 1700's. The student will plot the journey of the colonists from England to Jamestown on a map using push pins.

1. Go to the Plimoth Plantation website. This website is great for parents and students to take a virtual tour of a Pilgrim village in 1627 to see the many different sights the village contains.

2. Click on Liberty Kids website. Parents and students can watch episodes of the 1700's lifestyles and play interactive games.

3. Click on Colonial America. This website is great for information for parents and students can review together and discuss the early settlers society, school, and culture.

4. Using the Interactive Farmscene, both parents and students can click on the various spots on the farmscene and find out cool information about farm life in the 1700's.

5. Go to Life of a Colonial Kid website. This website shows the parents and students the types of food that were available to the colonists. Together they can follow a recipe used by the colonists and enjoy the typical food from the 1700's.

If you Lived in Colonial Times Ann McGovern	This book tells you what it was like to live in the New England colonies during the 1700 's. The book answers what did people eat, what did people sleep on, and many other interesting questions. This book contains pictures that help children imagine what it was really like in the colonial days.
The Pilgrim's First Thanksgiving Ann McGovern	This book tells about the Pilgrims during their first year at Plymouth and the struggles they had during this time. Children will be interested to learn that the Pilgrims brought over two dogs and a cat with them on the Mayflower.
Colonial Times from A to Z Bobbie Kalman	This book describes the colonial life in America by using the ABC format. You will see how the colonist dress, trade, daily living, and games. The book focuses on daily living such as who does what type of job and how people lived in the 1700's.
If You Sailed on the Mayflower in 1620 Ann McGovern	This book explains why the Pilgrims left England to live in America. It tells what the Pilgrims took with them on board the Mayflower and the hardships they endured in the new land.

This is America, Charlie Brown--The Mayflower Voyages Charles Schultz	This video shows the new land and life featuring everyone's favorite Peanuts characters. The Pilgrims settle into their new homeland with the help from Charlie Brown and his friends.
Liberty's Kids The Learning Company	This software is based on the PBS television show called Liberty Kid's. This software brings to life the history of the colonial times. Liberty's Kids puts the children back into the colonial times by letting the them become reporters, challenging themselves about the past, and most importantly, watch history unfold in front of their eyes.
