By

This story takes place in a small village in Africa.  It is about a young man named Ojo.  Ojo loved playing the drums and he loved to hunt.  When the people of his village needed his help planting the corn fields or bringing in the yams, Ojo would always tell them no because he wanted to venture into the forest.  One day when Ojo went into the forest he ventured too far and said no at the wrong time.  He met the king of the forest who offered him kingship of another country if only he'd learn to say yes.

Questions To consider

1. have your parents ever asked you to do something around the house and you really wanted to do something else?  What are some of the things you'd have rather been doing?

2. Why do people sometimes say 'yes' to things when they really want to say 'no'?
