Welcome
To My Webpage
Hello. My name
is Danielle Walker. I am a Georgia resident and am pursuing a
career in education. My studies focus on Early Childhood
Education at Valdosta State University. I also have a one year
old son, named Jalen, who keeps
me very busy.
Since the time I was a very young girl, I have wanted to be a
teacher. It took some time for me to really decide on a specific
age group to teach. However, after substituting for two years I
concluded that my ideal grade would be third. I want to be a
teacher because I love working with children. I get such a rush
when I am in the classroom. I love it when a child's face lights
up because they finally understand a problem or pronounce a hard word
correctly. I love to see and share in their
achievements. Another reason I want to teach is because I really
want to make a difference in the lives of children. I believe
that teaching is my chance to do this.
My main
source of inspiration to become a teacher was my second grade teacher,
Mrs. Jenni Anderson. In my eyes she was God. She was
absolutely amazing. She saw something in me that no one else saw
and pushed me to levels that I did not even know I could achieve.
She realized that I was a lot more advanced than the rest of my class
and gave me enrichment worksheets to continuously expand my
intellect. She made me love going to school. I knew that I
wanted to do, for another child, what Mrs. Jenni had done for me.
