The Spider and the Fly
(drawing by Chelsey Sears Fall
2004)

The Spider and the Fly is
about a little fly that is trying to be persuaded by a big spider to
come into his home. The Spider tries and tries but the fly thinks
she knows better. The Spider tells the Fly how beautiful her eyes
and wings are. He tries to use cunning words to try to persuade
her to stay with him. The Fly knows that it is not safe but will
she trust in herself?
Does the Fly fall for the
Spider's tricky words?
Will the Fly go into the Spider's home even though she knows it's
dangerous?
What would you do? Listen to the Spider? Or would you
follow your instincts?
