My name is Chelsey Sears. I was born
in Madrid, Spain on February 6 1983. My younger sister (Ariel)
and I moved to Valdosta when I was 11. She moved to Florida last
year but I stayed here to finish at Valdosta State University. I
have a Boston Terrior named Spike, he is the cutest little dog!!
I work here on campus at the Financial Services. I live with two
of my sorririty sisters, Rachael and Maggie, and an upcoming freshman
Lindsey. I love my family, shopping, and Spike. I hope
someday to move to Florida and teach at an elementary school near my
mom.
I became interested in teaching about 4 years ago. As a child I always wanted to be a teacher but it wasn't until the summer before my freshman year that I decided I wanted to teach. I worked at the YMCA summer camp and loved being around children. I worked with the first and second grade girls and they all touched my heart! I love children's innocence and eagerness to learn. My parents support my decision to major in early childhood education and are very proud of me.
Mostly I was inspired by the children at the YMCA. They helped me see that children were my passion and helping them learn would be the best part of my life. I was also inspired by many of my teachers. I have had an awesome experience with teachers.
