About Me
My name is Casey Pearson, and I am Junior at Valdosta State University majoring in Special Education interrelated with Early Childhood Education. I am from Savannah Georgia, and I have 1 little sister named Megan who is 15, a step sister named Monica who is 24 and a step brother named Ben who is 20. One interesting fact about me is I do not like TV. I would much rather be outside doing something else, or looking on the computer. I love to go to the beach and out on the boat, recently I have become interested in hunting and fishing with my boyfriend. I also love to go camping, riding four wheelers and anything else fun to do outside. 

Why I Want To Be a Teacher
I want to be a Special Education teacher so I can help children overcome and learn to live successfully with any learning or physical disability they may have. I have seen many people over come their disability and make a wonderful life for themselves, and I have also seen many people who were not able to over come their disability. My hope for every student I teach is they will succeed in their life and be whoever they want to become. I also believe that it is hard to overcome obstacles in life unless you believe in your self and I hope I can give every child the confidence they need to succeed.

Who inspired you or what inspired you to be a teacher?
I was inspired to be a teacher when I was in high schools participating in the teacher education program. I was placed in a middle school class to work with a girl who was in the seventh grade but could not read and had other learning disabilities. I decided after meeting her I wanted to become an early childhood special education teacher so i could help as many students as possible learn to read, and over come any learning disability they may have as early as possible.
