Sweet Tooth for
Education

I
enjoy volunteering for events that give me the opportunity to work with
children. I've volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader Assistant for
three years. Volunteering helps me to enhance my knowledge about
children and how they think and learn. I have a 2 year old son,
DaKarri
Ah'Johnnie Meeks, who keeps me on the go. We enjoy singing,
reading, and playing with one another. Besides the enjoyment of
volunteering and my son, I love shopping for shoes. Three of my
favorite shoe stores are Finish
Line, Nine
West,
and Shoe Carnival.
Another one of my hobbies is tasting desserts. My favorite
dessert is cake. I love all types of cakes, preferably publix
bakery cakes.

I'm
always on the internet researching different teaching strategies for
diverse children. I also search for educational activities that I
can do with my students in order to enhance their knowledge. I've
come across several useful sites.
One of the sites, teacher
vision, provides teachers with lesson plans, games for the
students, suggestions for classroom management, assessments, themes for
the classroom, and special need resources for diverse students.
Another site, scholastic,
provides information for the teacher, parents, and students.
Games for the students, teaching strategies (including strategies for
diverse learners and English as a second language students), classroom
management tips, and educational materials are also provided.
