Students with teacher assistance will read the Mini-Research eBook,
explore,
and discuss the information in the four linking websites that go with
the Mini-Research

concepts in the
Mini-Research eBook and the linking websites. List four or
more
questions from each of your linking websites that will guide your
students to
gain information for your PLO.
1. The word bear and chair make the same sound. What some
other
words that would rhyme with bear?
2. Can and car start with the same letters, but they don't
rhyme.
Why don't these words rhyme?

Real-World
Activity: Music Magic Marty, the songwriter for the band, has
gotten angry and quit. In his rage, he took all the band's music
and ripped it to shreds. Now the band has nothing to play for the
big show! The band needs your help to put the lyrics back
together in time to rock the show. You will need to pick out all
the rhyming words to match up the right lyrics to the right song.
If you choose a non-rhyming word the band will be booed off the
stage! It is up to you to save the show! If you need any
help with rhyming words review the rhyming song and help Reggie the Rhino at the zoo. |

Descriptions
of Students' Evidence that Illustrate the Achieved Performance Level of
the PLO |

2 |
The
student was able to complete the project, but needed a little
assistance. She was also able to explain
why some of my examples did not rhyme. For
example, she saw that can and car began with the same letters, but they
made different sounds so they do not rhyme. |
|

The
student created the rhymes with help from me. He
wasn’t too sure of how and why they rhymed, but with help from me and
his peer he was able to somewhat grasp the concept. |
1.
Comment on your
teaching of how your Mini-Research eBook Lesson created
learning
experiences and activities that implemented the use a variety of
resources and
technologies. (* To receive full credit description must include
a
minimum of two sentences and a detailed example.)
The eBook lesson
provided many different types of resources.
There were songs, matching games, and puzzles. I also used many
different types of pictures
of things that they would normally see in their everyday lives.
2.
State evidence
to show that your students gained knowledge during your Mini-Research
eBook
Lesson. (* To receive full credit description must include a
minimum of
two sentences and a detailed example.)
The students are able to
provide judgment of whether the words rhymed or not. They were
also able to explain to me why or
why not.
3.
Give at least one
suggestion that would lead to improving your teaching practices and
student
achievement. (* To receive full credit description must include a
minimum
of two sentences and a detailed example.)
In this lesson, I didn’t have
any pictures just the underlined words in
the phrases. The students were supposed
to draw a picture to complete the rhymes.
I found that this was difficult because they couldn’t read or write
their thoughts completely. For this
lesson I need to keep the pictures and perhaps just let them say the
words that
rhyme.
