| Grade 1: In this activity, the students played a board game similar to Candyland. They each rolled the dice and then moved their figure that amount of spaces. Whatever color they landed on, they drew a card. The card contained a math problem. They had to solve the problem on their own notebook paper. If they answered the problem correctly, they stayed on the space. If they missed the problem, they had to move backwards one space. Following the game we went to the computers. For this lesson the students had to use Microsoft Word and create their own math problems. They had to do one addition and one subtraction problem. This student was very fluent with using Microsoft Word. He knew exactly how to do everything I was showing him and was able to do it with no problem. I was very surprised to how well he was able to do this. He loved using the computer and really like doing the assignment. |
