Procedures:
Step One: Introduction
Have a small group of students go to a computer.  Explain to students that you are going to use the computer to read an Mini-Research eBook about things that are seen in the day and night sky.  List 2 or more questions that introduce students to your Mini-Research eBook that will establish a connection to students' prior knowledge by asking them:
1. "Have you ever studied or read a book about things that are in the day and night sky?"
2. "Can you tell me about some things that you have seen in the sky?"
Today we are going to read an eBook on the Internet.  I have made a special Mini-Research eBook on the Internet for your class.  (During discussion have students turn around away from the computer to interact.)

Estimated Time for Step One:
5 minutes

Step Two Teaching the Primary Learning Outcomes:
(Students will sit at the computer where they can control the mouse and computer.)  (Explain to students the process of the lesson.)  We are going to read my Mini-Research eBook and visit several websites.

Check for understanding
Students with teacher assistance will read the Mini-Research eBook, explore, and discuss the information in the four linking websites that go with the Mini-Research eBook.  Ask students guiding questions about the important concepts in the Mini-Research eBook and the linking websites.   List four or more questions from each of your linking websites that will guide your students to gain information for your PLO.
1.  What is it called when the sun comes up in the early hours of the morning?
2.
What is the brightest star that can be seen from earth?
3.  Can you name one type of cloud that can be seen in the day sky.
4.  How many phases does the moon have?

Practice and feedback related to the PLO
Read the Mini-Research eBook project to students.  Explain to students that they are going to be meterologist for the city of Valdosta. They will draw and design two pictures to show what objects are found in the sky during the day and night time. Tell the students that the information that they will need to complete their Mini-Research eBook project is listed and connected in the Mini-Research eBook activity.  Review the information in the linked website in the Mini-Research eBook activity with the students to emphasize interesting and important information students will need to complete mission project.

This student needed assistance and was willing to learn about what can be seen in the day and night sky. He was able to identify what a cumulus cloud looks like even though he had trouble pronouncing it. He was able to recall that a atmosphere is the same meaning as sky in simple terms. This student could tell me the things that can be seen in a night sky, the stars are above us in the sky also called an atmosphere.

1. Comment on your teaching of how your Mini-Research eBook Lesson created learning experiences and activities that implemented the use a variety of resources and technologies.

My eBook incorporated activites that built on things that the students already had basic knowledge about. I had to link to a website to show the different phases of the moon and what a sunset and sunrise looks like. The students got to see how the earth rotates because I showed them a video.

2. State evidence to show that your students gained knowledge during your Mini-Research eBook Lesson.

The studnets we're excited about the moon video in the eBook presentation. I let the students click on pictures to see the 3 main types of clouds: cumulus, stratus, and cirrus. The students could easily spot what a cumulus cloud looked like and could describe what is seen during a sunset.

3. Give at least one suggestion that would lead to improving your teaching practices and student achievement.

I could improve my teaching practices while using an eBook by having more examples that relate to the students on their level of learning. The students would meet the PLO more easily if they had the opportunity to see more examples.
