Around Easter time, you could let the students decorate a paper egg and hang all of the eggs from a tree in the classroom.
This story is about a boy and a girl who can't wait for the Easter bunny to leave them eggs to hunt on Easter morning.  After the Easter bunny arrived, the hunt began.   Since everyone else had found eggs except for Katy, she decided to go to the attic and hunt for eggs.  There she found a box with six beautifully decorated eggs.  They found a small tree to bring inside to hang the beautiful eggs on.  The next day they found a bigger tree and made more eggs to put on it.  Each year the children got a bigger tree and decorated it with more eggs.  Visitors would come from far away just to see the unique tree.

This book is about a little girl named Mirette.  Her mother owned a boardinghouse in Paris that traveling players from all over the world would stay at.  One day, a man named Bellini came to stay.  One day when Mirette came to get the sheets, she saw Bellini walking across a wire.  She begged Bellini to teach her how to walk on the wire but he refused to teach her.  Mirette decided that she would teach herself while Bellini was gone.  Mirette practiced for days and she finally figured out how to walk on the wire.  When she showed Bellini what she had learned to do on her own, he decided to help her.  Bellini admitted that he was afraid to walk the wire and he didn't know if he could do it again.  Once he realized how sad Mirette was about his fear, he decided to face his wire-walking fear.  He planned a performance for that night in the street.  When Mirette heard the commotion, she ran outside.  When she saw that Bellini could not cross the wire alone, she ran upstairs and got on the wire with him.  Mirette soon became famous and Bellini had finally overcome his fear.

This book is about a little boy and his magical surprise on Christmas Eve.  As he sat there waiting to hear the sleigh bells ring, he was surprised to hear the whistle of a train.  He walked outside and boarded the magical train that was headed to the North Pole.  When they finally arrived at the North Pole, they saw hundreds of elves gathering in the center of the city with Santa.  They could not wait to see who would receive the first gift of Christmas from Santa.  Surprisingly, he picked the little boy and asked him what he wanted for Christmas.  All he asked for was a bell off of Santa's sleigh.  When the clock struck twelve, Santa and his reindeer flew off and the Polar Express went back home.  When the children asked to see the little boy's bell, he could not find the bell.   All he found was a hole in his pocket.  When he got home he was very upset with himself.  However, on Christmas day he was surprised to find a box with a note from Santa and the bell inside.

This book is about a mama duck and a daddy duck who are looking for a place to raise their baby ducklings.  Once the mama duck laid her eggs and the eggs hatched, she became very busy.  She taught the ducklings to swim, dive, walk in a line and many other tricks.  Once they were old enough to go across town to meet their dad at their new home, they started on their journey.  Once they finally reached the Public Garden and met their dad, they knew that the island would be their new home.

This book it about two dogs who find a bone.  They can't decide which one will get the bone since one of them saw it first and one of them touched it first.  They asked a variety of animals and people who should get the bone and none of them had an answer.  When they asked another dog who should get the bone, the dog ran off with their bone.  They chased after him and got the bone back.  After the fight, they sat down and decided to eat the bone together.

The book is about police officer Buckle and his K-9 helper Gloria.  Officer Buckle gives safety speeches at schools and takes Gloria with him.  The kids loved when Gloria would come to the schools with Officer Buckle.  They would cheer and scream when he gave his speeches.  Officer Buckle was so proud of himself until he realized that the children weren't excited about hearing him, all they cared about was seeing Gloria.  In the end, Officer Buckle and Gloria realize that they need each other to make each visit a success.

This book is about a boy who talks about how his grandfather loved traveling and seeing the world.  His grandfather's home was in Japan but once he got married, he and his wife moved to California.  There they had a daughter together.  Although he loved California, he missed his home in Japan so they moved back.  As his daughter grew up, she fell in love and married a man and they had a son together.  Their son loved hearing about his grandfather's adventures.  His grandfather always told the boy how he longed to see California one more time.  However, he never did.  When the boy grew up, he went to California to see  the land that his grandfather loved so much.  He decided to stay and live in California and it was there that he also had a daughter just like his grandfather.

This book is about a young girl named Rapunzel.  When Rapunzel is born, she  is given to a sorceress. The sorceress locks Rapunzel up in a tower that has no doors and one window at the top.  The only way that people could get up the tower was by climbing up Rapunzel's long hair and using it as a ladder.  One day a Prince was walking by and he heard Rapunzel’s voice. He decided to climb up her hair to see who had such a beautiful voice.  The Prince  quickly fell in love with Rapunzel and married her.  Rapunzel soon became pregnant with twins and the sorceress was not happy.  She threw Rapunzel out of the tower and left her in the wilderness alone.  As soon as the Prince found out what happened, he searched everywhere for Rapunzel.   He finally found her and the two babies and they live happily ever after in his kingdom.

This book is about a woman who swallows a fly.  As the story goes on, she swallows a variety of animals to catch the animal that she had previously swallowed.  At the end of the story, the woman swallowed a horse to catch the cow and the story ends with "She's dead of course!"

This book is about a a tiny girl named Thumbelina.  Thumbelina was a beautful girl and all of the animals loved her.  One day after a toad wanted to marry her and Thumbelina did not care for him, she decided to escape.  Some of the animals helped her escape but she was soon captured by a May bug.  However, the May bug decided to let Thumblina go and she was left with nowhere to go.  When winter came, she stumbled upon the house of a mouse.  She loved living with the mouse but she really wanted to go off with the sparrow that she had found and nursed back to health.  One day she decided to go away with the sparrow and he took her to a beautiful place.  There she met her future husband and became the queen of the flowers.

This book is about a little house that was built by a man that would live to see his great-great-grandchildren's great-great-grandchildren.  As the years went by, the little house watched the seasons change and watched the land change.  A road was paved, gasoline stations were built, and a busy city was built around the little house.  The little house missed the quiet country-side that it had loved.  One day, the great-great granddaughter recognized the house and decided to have it moved back out to the country.  The little house was so happy to be back in the country.  The great-great granddaughter repaired the little house and moved into the house and everyone was happy.

This book is interesting becuase it is told from the wolf's point-of-view.  The wolf talks about how he was sick and he was trying to make his granny a birthday cake and he didn't have any sugar.  He knocked on the first pig's door and he sneezed and it blew the house down.  Since the pig was already dead, the wolf decided to eat the first pig.  He went to the second house and had to sneeze again.  Once he sneezed, the second pig's house blew down too.  Once again, he was not going to waste a pig so he ate the second pig as well.  When he went to the third pig's house, he asked the pig for some sugar.  When the pig wouldn't let him in and his sneeze didn't blow the house down he didn't know what to do.  He got mad with the pig and tried to break down the pig's door when the cops arrived and took him to jail.  And that's how he became known as the Big Bad Wolf.

One day a poor man told the King that his daughter could spin straw into gold.  Amazed by this information, the King had the girl come to the castle and spin his straw into gold.  He told her that if she did not have it turned into gold by in the morning, she would die.  Since the girl did not know how to spin straw into gold, she panicked.  Suddenly a tiny man came in the room and told her that he could help but that she would have to give him something.  The little man helped the woman and by the third time, the King told her that if she could spin it all into gold she would be his wife.  However, the woman did not have anything else to give the little man.  He told her that she would have to give him her first child for him to help her.  When she had  her first child the little man came for her baby.  The only way that she could keep her baby was if she could figure out his name.  After many attempts, she finally figured out the little mans name was Rumpelstiltskin and she never saw him again.

They were like any other family except for their tiny size and the fact that they have tails.  One day after Uncle Nick gets attacked by the cat, the family decides to go to Trash City to bring some of his friends back to cheer him up.  On their way back home they encounter different obstacles that they have to overcome.  When they finally arrive back at home, Uncle Nick is so excited about his friends coming to visit and they all celebrate Christmas together.

The next day when he is brushing his teeth, the tooth paste turns into chocolate. His breakfast then turns into chocolate. Then  his trumpet, lunch, pencil, a doctor's spoon, and even his mother all turn into chocolate.  Once John vowed to change his bad habits, the storekeeper took the chocolate touch away.

This book is about a little boy who gets flattened by a bulletin board.  At first Stanley was upset but then he learned that he could do amazing things because of his size.  His brother even got jealous of him.  Stanley got turned into a kite, got mailed in a package, and even hung up as a picture.  Becuase of his unusual size he was able to hide and help capture some thieves.  However, after awhile people started picking on Stanley.  Then one day his brother found a bicycle pump and blew Stanley back up to his normal size.

This book is about a little boy and his dog.  He didn't think his dog was special until he followed him one night.  He quickly realized that his dog's doghouse was his dressing area.  His dog had rooms and a closet full of clothes.  His dog got dressed for a night out with his friends.  The boy followed his dog to a place called "The Doghouse" where other dogs were at.  He followed him inside and realized how special his dog really was.  His dog explained to him that it was a place for dogs to go and relax and talk.  The little boy now knew what his dog had been up to and never thought of him the same way again.

His father thanked him for trying to get him the perfect present but that what he said in his dream was not true.  However, Julian and Huey had made his birthday the most memorable one ever.

This book is about a boy named Alex.  Alex is in the sixth grade and is smaller than alot of the other kids.  However, his mouth is not very small.  He tends to get in trouble alot for running his mouth.  There is another boy in his class named T.J. Stoner who Alex cannot stand.  T.J. is very athletic and is great in baseball.  However, Alex is not.  One day when Alex challenges T.J. to a pitching contest, he realizes that his mouth had gotten him in trouble.  Although Alex gets embarrassed at the contest and throughout the rest of the book, in the end he realizes that he is special in his own unique way.

One day when class 2B was listening to their teacher read "Twas The Night Before Christmas," the rocking chair that she was sitting in broke and she fell on the floor.  Although she seemed alright, she decided to go to the hospital the next morning just to make sure.  She soon found out that she had torn a ligament in her knee and had to have surgery.  The class was very upset about her being in the hospital-especially during Christmas.  They had to think of a plan to include her with the Christmas festivities.  The class decided to come up with a song and they would go sing it outside her hospital window after school.  Harry also had a special gift for Miss Mackle, a chair that he had decorated just for her.  When it was time to go sing at the hospital, Miss Mackle was surprised by her students' surprise and she couldn't wait to get back to class 2B.

This book talks about Ruby Bridges and her struggles as a black student.  It talks about how the judge allowed her to attend a white school.  When Ruby arrived at school the first day, crowds of people gathered around her and yelled at her.  However, Ruby went on inside with the federal marshals.  Each day Ruby  had to face the crowds that yelled at her but she continued to go to school.  She would walk into an empty classroom each day and do her work so quietly.  One day her teacher noticed her stopping outside and talking.  She asked Ruby what she was saying to the people and Ruby said that she was praying for the people who were so cruel to her.  Ruby Bridges was a very strong little girl who made a difference for all children in America.

This book is about a little boy named Diego.  Diego had a friend named David that he loved playing with.  Diego's family and David's family were migrant farm workers so they had to travel alot to find work.  One day when David's famiy had to move, Diego was very upset.  Diego thought about David all of the time.  One day on the radio he heard the announcer say a number for people to call in and say a message for someone.  Diego decided to call the number and send David a message hoping David would be listening to the radio station as well.  David received the message and was able to meet Diego once again.

This book is great.  It makes learning about the life cycle of a butterfly fun.  It also talks about what they eat and how they eat.  The pictures are beautiful and the information is easy to understand.  In the back of the book there are pictures of different butterflies and their name.  It also shows the different parts of a butterfly.

When his parents got back home all they found was the lion.  They took the lion to the doctor and the doctor got Pierre out of the lion.  Pierre was so excited that he was still alive that he cared enough to let the lion stay for the weekend.
