Proposal Format for 2010 GCA Convention

Eligibility Requirements (Please read carefully):
  1. All genres of films will be accepted to the competition, but there are not separate categories for awards.
  2. Films must have been created within the past calendar year (no films older than January 1, 2009).
  3. Verify that your DVD plays on all systems.
  4. Films can be no longer than ten minutes.
  5. This is a competitive festival; submission does not guarantee that your work will be screened at the GCA Film Festival. Judges will view all the submissions and determine the best works submitted. You will be notified by email if your work has been accepted for screening at the festival.
  6. Submissions may be made only by students who have been enrolled in at least one term during the 2009 calendar year in a college associated with the Georgia Communication Association.
  7. A faculty member is required to sign off on all entries.
  8. Only one entry per student.
  9. There will be no compensation for loss or damage of work.
  10. We cannot guarantee the return of your film copies, so do not submit originals.
  11. Creativity is encouraged. In an effort to maintain the spirit of the conference and festival, judges may consider excessive/gratuitous use of offensive language, use of unsubstantiated assertions, and pornography of any kind grounds for disqualification from consideration.
  12. Each submission must be clearly labeled with submitter’s name, phone number, school attending, faculty member, and faculty member contact telephone number as well as its title, running time.
  13. A complete submission will include the entry form and 3 DVD copies of your final film.
  14. Entries must be submitted by 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 4, 2010.
