Crysti
Burnette, that's me! I'm a 20 year old Junior at Valdosta State
University. At school, I'm studying to become a
teacher.
Not just any teacher, though! I want to teach Special
Education. I love working with children, but children who
have
special needs hold my heart. I want to spend my life helping
children have the best quality of life possible! Last summer, I
worked at a camp
for
children with special needs. It was the best summer of my life
thus
far!
The picture below is of one of my campers and me.
When I
was 2, my
parents adopted me. They have been and still are excellent
parents and role models for me! Needless to say, I am very
blessed that they
"picked" me. So, I am originally from Florida. I went to a private-rural school in Madison, Florida. After the
Academy, I was a Cowboy
at MaCoHi. Once a
Cowboy, Always a
Cowboy! After high school I received my Associate's Degree from North Florida Community
College.
I transferred to VSU in January 2006 to begin my program for Special
Education. My roommate and I moved to Valdosta last
Fall. She's my best buddy!

If
I happen to stumble across some free time, I like to fill it
with relaxing activities. I like to crochet, sing loudly to
music,
read, watch movies, cook new
recipes, take photographs, sudoku
puzzles, and cheering on the Florida Gators.
These things may make me sound like an old lady, but my hectic life
calls for some relaxing hobbies. I love to travel and one day I
hope to live near the mountains. Mission trips are also a large
part of my life, it includes traveling and serving other people.
Also, I am involved in the
Baptist Collegiate Ministries, BCM. The picture below is of me
during Survival Daze, which is an annual event that helps freshmen and
transfer students get involved with the BCM. I love the friends I
have made and the experiences I have had while helping at the BCM.

Thanks for stopping by!
