As of Fall 2005, Valdosta State University is able to include a dance minor as part of the College of the Arts curriculum and tracks. Below, you will find the course requirements for completion of the minor track.

MINOR IN DANCE ARTS 2007

Students in other majors may receive a Minor in Dance Arts by completing 18 semester

hours in DANC courses.

Students must take:  

DANC 3410 Dance History (3),  Pre-requistes: DANC 1500 Intro. to Dance

DANC 3500 Teaching Dance Techniques (2), Pre-requistes: Ballet I, Jazz I, Modern I and Dance Improvisation or instructor approval  DANC 1600, 1700, 2800, 2920.

DANC 3000 Dance Composition Pre-requistes: (3)  DANC 1600 and DANC 1700 or instructor approval

and either one semester of DANC 3200 Dance Ensemble Pre-requisite: Audition by instructor (2) or DANC 3300 (1-3) Special Topics

Total: 9-12
