*My Roomie, Heather*
Hey! I am
Carley Powell and am a junior at Valdosta State University. I am
from Alpharetta, Georgia- right above Atlanta. I grew up in the schools
in Alpharetta. I went to Milton High Schooland graduated with a class
of
630 students. I loved every moment of my high school and would go back
in a flash! Growing up I always dreamed about being a teacher. I would
always pretend and play "school" growing up. In fact, my dad built me a
"school house" in our backyard when I was little. All throughout high
school
I was very invoved in my church and in Student Venture, a Christian
organization, and I also played lacrosse for two years. Now I live in
Valdosta
while I attend Valdosta State Universtiy and am an Early Childhood
Education major.
Growing up, my family has always been very close. They are my
favorite people in the world. My mom, aunt Vivi, and cousin Tasha are
all extremly close. We are always together when I go home for a weekend
or a break. We are shopping fools! Tasha
is an elementary teacher in Canton, Georgia, and teaches fifth
grade. I grew up on the lake. For as long as I can remember we have
always had a boat. In high school I met my girls. There are five of us
and I love them more than anything. We are all completly different, but
come together to make one perfect group of girls!
*My
Girls*
My
all-time favorite thing to do is to be in a boat on the lake. I
love to be in the sun! I am up for a lake or a beach day anyday! Another one of
my
favorite things to do is to shop- the typical girl! I miss my hometown
and all of our wonderful places to go shopping! I have always been a
"bag girl," my favorite is Coach,
but
I am starting to be like my mother collecting shoes. I also love to
read! I love to read "girlie books," but my favorite is Harry Potter. My girls
and I love Harry, and have read all seven of the books multiple times!
(I promise we aren't total nerds!) When I came to
college I rushed my frieshman year and I pledged Phi Mu.
I am in my third year of Phi Mu and love it! My soroity sisters are so
special to me; I would do anything for them. I love to watch the
sporting events we participate in, but usually don't play. Last year
during Greek Week I did participate in the event Tug- more
intense
tug-of-war. But I would rather be cheering my sisters on for any of the
other
sports!
