Real World Activity



How Much Candy Can You Buy?
Boys and girls now that you know how much each coin is worth lets match the candy to the coin amounts they are worth! I have a bag of different candies that are each worth different amounts. I will give you each 1 penny, 1 nickel, 1 dime and 1 quarter. You will have to match the candy amount to the correct coin that I give you in order to get the candy. Don't forget if you need to remember anything about the coins, you can go back to the pages we viewed before about each coin.
Lesson 1 Directions: You will use manipulative's to match the candy to how much they are worth and say the name of the coin.
1) Match the pieces of candy with the correct coin.
2) Match the candy and the amount they are worth using the manipulative's. Then say the name of the coin you used.

Lesson 2 Directions: You will illustrate how much each piece of candy I give you is worth. You will also write the name of the coin beside your drawing.

2)Illustrate the candy and the amount they are worth on your paper. Then write the coin name next to how much it is worth.
