This is the never-ending story of my semi-unsuccessful, mundane, and very hectic freshman year!  Perhaps by viewing my web page, you will gain insight into my confused and crazy psyche.

Hi!  My name is Carrie Davis.  I am a freshman at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia.  I grew up in a small town in south-east Georgia called Baxley.  I am the youngest daughter of Glen and Marie Davis.  I have one sister and a brother-in-law, Mandy and Chris Floyd.   While at school, I live with two friends from my hometown- Janda and Amy.  I am involved with the Baptist Student Union and I work at Pier 1 Imports.
I came to Valdosta because I had no other choice- I needed to go somewhere where I would have roommates.  I really had my heart set on attending another university.  Sounds great, huh?  I soon found myself making plans for my first semester at school and gradually I became excited about attending VSU.  I  had never even seen the college until orientation.  When I drove up, I fell in love with the campus.  It is absolutely beautiful here.  The campus is so pretty- lush, green grass, palm trees swaying in the breeze, bright blue skies, and gorgeous fountains make VSU a delightful place to be.
My freshman year has been wonderful.  I have met so many new people and have built  many lasting friendships.  I recently declared my major.  I plan on graduating with my class in 2005 with a degree in Secondary Education/English and a minor in Art.  I hope to teach high school English after I graduate.  I would love to open my own photography studio one day.

The FYE Program, or Freshman Year Experience, is a program designed to help college freshmen adjust to the college experience.  It was created to help students learn to manage their time wisely and study properly.  FYE also helps undecided freshmen make appropriate career choices.

This program has been very helpful to me.  The FYE Program's small, community-like setting has helped me build friendships that will last a lifetime.  It has helped me adjust to college life and has really helped me get involved on campus.
