My name is Brent Bridges. I am a junior here a VSU and I am an Early Childhood major. I grew up in the small town of Hazlehurst, Georgia where I attended Jeff Davis High. The highlight of Jeff Davis is probably my senior year, 2004, when we lost to Bacon for the AA State Baseball Championship. My parents are T.M. and Jo Ann Bridges. My dad is a pharmacist and owns Hardies Drug Store in Hazlehurst and my mom is the bookkeeper there.I have a younger brother, Brian, who is a Junior at Jeff Davis High. I also have a girlfriend, Amanda Ricketson, who is currently a sophomore at South Georgia College where she is also preparing to come to VSU for Early Childhood.

I want to be a
teacher because I feel like teachers have a major impact on children. I
feel like teachers are given a valuable opportunity to be a positive
role model for children. I believe teachers spend about a third of the
day with children, so if you love children like me why not be useful
and teach them.

My first grade teacher was someone who inspired me to become a teacher. I always remember going home and telling my mom all of the cool things we done in class. I enjoyed first first grade class because she made it fun.She was the teacher who helped me realize that school can be a place to have fun and learn at the same time. Recently I went back to her class to observe and her students were having the most fun out of any class I observed. It helped reinforce that education can be fun for teachers to.
