Introduction:

This is a unit for grades 4^th-5^th that clearly describes the lives of children of the European settlers. This unit will then proceed to describe early homes, home care, clothing, chores, education, food, and recreation. An overview of a typical child of Williamsburg and Virginia are also included. Illustrated with photos and reproductions, books that cover much the same background will be listed for children and adults alike to use as a reference to learn about this influential part of the United States.
