Welcome to the Wonderful World of Miss Ashli S. Reese

Valdosta State University

Hi everyone! My name is Ashli Reese and I am currently a freshman at

VSU. I plan on majoring in the field of biology pre-med; specializing as

a registered nurse. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and I am the

youngest of two siblings. I have an older sister who is a sophomore at

Savannah State University. I chose to attend VSU, because of the

beautiful campus, because nursing is one of the top majors at this

school and, because of the diversity.

I believe the purpose of the Freshman Year Experience Program (FYE)

is to help out the lost and unsure freshman entering such a large

university. The FYE program has affected me tremendously, both

academically and socially. I enjoy being in this program, because I see

familiar faces in most of my classes. Thanks to this program, I have

found good friends, and one great friend in particular named Tyresa

Georgia. I believe that since I am in the FYE program, my further

school development will be successful. My peer mentor's name is Kay

Hearn. and she is so helpful and nice. Throughout this program, I have

learned the value of community service and the quality of friendship.
