Title:  How To Care For Iguanas PLO:  Student will learn how to care for an iguana. Website and Materials: http://www.triciaswaterdragon.com/napoleon.htm Microsoft Word Procedures:  1. Students will visit the website and research how to care for an iguana. 2. Students will site information and use it to write a paper on iguanas   (health, food, cleaning, etc.). 3. Students will write the paper in word and print out. 4. After the papers are turned in the teacher will ask the students to state one fact they learned about iguanas. Product:  Students will have typed the paper with the information from the website about iguanas.

Title: Iguanas change colors! PLO: Students will learn about iguanas during their color changing stages. Website and Materials: http://animal.discovery.com/guides/reptiles/iguanas/colorchanges.html Microsoft Paint Procedures: 1. Students will read the web page about iguanas changing colors. 2. Students will then use Microsoft Paint to paint three different pictures of iguanas.  Use the information from the website to pick the different colors you will use to paint the iguanas. 3. Describe which traits you learned about iguanas changing colors to show why you picked the colors you did. Product:  Students will have learned about why and when iguanas change colors and paint pictures about it.

Title: Iguana Powerpoint Facts PLO: Students will use powerpoint to present facts about iguanas. Website and Materials: http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Iguana_iguana.html Microsoft Powerpoint Procedures: 1. Students will read through the website and write down five facts about iguanas. 2. They will also save at least two pictures from the website. 3. Students will use powerpoint to make slides with the facts and pictures. 4. Students will present to the rest of the class. Product: Students will have used powerpoint and learned facts about iguanas.

 

Microsoft Word Published By:Microsoft ~Word is an easy way to get those papers completed neatly and correctly. This software can be used to type a paper with resources about iguanas. ~This software is a great tool for typing papers but some students may not know how to use the page setup.  Make sure students know how to set margins for the format of the paper.

Microsoft Paint Published By: Microsoft ~Microsoft Paint is a fun way to express yourself through art.  Paint offers you a wide variety of colors, tools, and much more.  This software can be used to paint a picture of the rain forest scene with an iguana. ~Some students may have trouble using the mouse to paint with because it can be difficult to maneuver.  However, if students take their time and practice they can create a masterpiece.

Amazing Animals Published By: Dorling Kindersley ~Amazing animals lets Henry the lizard take you all over the world and learn about different animals.  There are activities, puzzles, a photo safari, and so much more.  This software could be used to find out information about iguanas and other reptiles. ~One problem is that this software only works with Windows and Mactiontosh

Students can learn about habituates and how animals live and grow in the wild. ~The program only works with older computer programs. (Windows 95 and 98)

Encyclopedia of Animals and Nature Published By: Mindscape ~Every animal you could imagine is in this program.  Bring these different animals to life when you use this encyclopedia cd-rom.  Information about animals from deserts to rain forests.  Use this website for research for papers or projects. ~This program has so many features, to get the information one is looking for could possibly be time consuming.
