	Stop Drop and Roll	Lucia Raatma	Pre-K- 3rd	1999/Capstone Press	Explains fire safety and heatsources. Also sxplains when, why, and how to stop, drop, and roll.
	A Day in the Life of a Firefighter	Linda Hayword	Pre-K- 3rd	2001/Dortling Kindersley	Excellent book to show how firefighters prepare to save lives. Also stresses the importance of fire safety in public places
	Crawl Low under Smoke	Lucia Raatma	Pre-K - 3rd	1999/Capstone Press	Explains the danger of smoke and how smoke alarms work. Expalins the importance of crawling low under smoke and how to escape from smoke.

The Pee Wee Scouts are planning a bike hike, but first they need to learn some important rules. The scouts misfit Pee Wee Roger has already had an acciedent and still insists on acting silly.

	Your Body Belongs to You	Cornelia Spelman	Pre-K - K	1997/Albert Whitman & Company	A simple book about good and bad touching. Eplains how good and bad touches make you feel and that it is okay to say "NO" if you are uncomfortable. Also covers when it is okay for someone like a doctor to touch certain parts fo your body.
	The Right Touch	Sandy Kleen	Pre-K - 2nd	1997/Illumination Arts	Jimmy's mother tells hima bedtime story about a little girl who was tricked by a grown-up she knew and touched in an uncomfortable way. She explains how bad touches are wrong and not the child's fault. She also intructs Jimmy on what to do if someone trys to touch him in the wrong way.

	The Berenstain Bear Scouts and the Sinister Smoke Ring	Stan & Jan Berenstain	3rd-5th	1997/Scholastic Inc.	Brother Bear is facing the issue of peer pressurefrom the Too-Tall Gang. They are pressuring him to smoke. The Bear Scouts try to intervene and stress the addictiveness of cigarettes and the dangerous risks that come along with it. To get there point across they organize a Helathorama Field Day to compete in the fight for a smoke free Bear Country.
	The House that Crack Built	Clark Taylor	Pre-K-4th	1992/Chronicle Books	A very informative book about where drugs come from. It breaks down the process of how the person who really sells drugs and is responsible is nowhere around. It shows kids that they have a choice not to ruin their lives or kill their brains
	Focus Drugs and the Brain	David Friedman	4th - 6th	1990/Twenty-first Century Books	An excellent book for older kids about the dangers of drugs and how they can affect yoiur brain. It discusses why people use grugs, what they can do to youir body, how easy it is to become addicted, and the process of recovery.
	Living with a Parent Who Takes Drugs	Judith S. Sexias	4th - 6th	989/Beech Tree Books	A great book to help children understand why thier parents are sick. It covers different scenarios kids mioght face. It also explains the childrens rights and why sometimes it is necessary for them to apart from thier family. It also lets children know they are not to blame and they are not alone.

It covers knifes and scissors in the kitches, medicine cabinets, water temperatures at bathtime, garage safety, and much more.
	Staying Home Alone	Dottie Raymer	5th-8th	2002/Pleasant Company	Explains what to do when you are left home alone. Very interactive book for young girls with quizzes and checklists. Also covers what to do when something unexpected happens.
