Hi! My name is Anastasia Clinch and I am a junior at Valdosta State University. I am from Brunswick,Ga, located on the coast of Georgia and surrounded by the beautiful ocean and lovely beaches of St. Simons, Jekyll Island, and Sea Island. I graduated from Brunswick High School, home of the pirates, in 2004 with a college prep diploma, and from there proceeded to continue my education here at VSU and I plan to recieve a degree in Early Childhood Education and gradute in December 2008.

Being a teacher is something that I have always wanted to be growing up. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher as an adolescent and that desire I had then is still with me now. I started off by baby-sitting like most but it was in high school that I got a chance to experiment and experience what it was really like to teach. I started this only in the ninth grade by observing pre-school special education students on a weekly basis for a science project. I proceeded to taking a teaching course in the eleventh grade that allowed me to observe children of all elementary grade levels, and I actually got a chance to be able to be involved in a teacher apprentice program my senior year in high school. Apart from gaining experience in an actual classroom setting, I have also had the opportunity to gain experience from places like nurseries, the Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scouts, and more.

note
Apart  from teaching and being around children, I absolutely love sports and music. I have always had a passion for both and I am just as much involved in these tasks as I am teaching. Along with music, I love to sing and play instruments. I have been apart of various choirs, including the VSU Mass Choir, singing both with groups and having solos, and I have also been a member of the school band all throughout middle and high school. I also love sports. I have been an active athlete all my life, starting with tee-ball. I have played softball, basketball, and I ran track during middle and high school and I now am fortunate enough to play softball on a college level. I have been a member of the Valdosta State softball team for two year now and it is by far my greatest experience.
