Welcome to
Ms. Kim's Candy Corner
Where
learning is sweeeet!

I
am a graduate of Valdosta
State University
and
currently re-enrolled to recieve my second undergraduate degree in
Early
Childhood Education. My first degree is in Mass Media Communication
with an emphasis in Video Production. I graduated with honors, cum laude, in December of
2006. I have always loved to do a variety of things and teaching was
always in the forefront. Even with my first degree I planned on
teaching later in my career. I grew up not far from Valdosta in the
small town of Thomasville, Ga.
It was at my highschool in Thomasville
that I learned I really had an interest in videography. I took several
media production classes in school and became rather good at it. I was
fortunate to have several awesome teachers who inspired me to excel in
school, provided me with the tools to do so, and now to pursue a career
in teaching.

My life
has been a rollercoaster, filled with
ups, downs, and unexpected twists and turns! I have had so many
wonderful experiences and just as many terrible ones, but all of helped
mold me into the Kim that I am today. One of the most exciting things
that happened to me was a few years ago. I didnt own a car, so I
would always depend on my friends for transportaion. It was near the
end
of the semester and there was a contest being held by the local radio
station. The contest
had been in
progess for the duration of summer break, and one day my mother called
me, told me she heard about, and that I should enter. I was reluctant
at first but told her I would enter. So it was the very last day to
register for a chance to win and I went. I was the last person to sign
up, the very next day I got a call saying that I was a semi-finalist!
There were 25 of us who had to meet at a car
dealership here
in
Valdosta
were the contest was being broadcast live over the radio, upon arrival
we all had to draw numbers so that they could pick the 6 finalist. My
number was drawn again! Lastly, we were all allowed to choose from a
box of keys, only one of which would crank the car. When the box came
around there was only one key left, I took it. Four
people had already tried their keys but without success, there was only
myself and another man left and it was my turn to try. I got in, put
the key in the ignition, and just like that the car started. And thats
how I got my first car in college!

Other
than teaching and working with children,
I love to do freelance photography or videography. I consider
myself a free spirit and don't tie myself to any one thing. I believe I
can successfully perform at multiple tasks as long as I am passionate
about them. I enjoy painting and writing poetry. My painting is not very
good, but it relaxes me and it is just fun for me! I spend a lot of
time with my brother and sisters. We are a family of comedians
in a sense because we all love to
joke around and laugh with and sometime even at each other! I
think my experiences with my siblings and being able to observe them at
home and at school in some cases really will prove beneficial in my
teaching career.
