My
name is Angie Tucker and I am a junior at Valdosta State
University. I
grew up in Moultrie, Georgia.
As a child I did gymnastics at the local YMCA and was on the team until
I was 13. I also enjoyed participating in beauty pagents.
I went to Cox Elementary, Charlie A. Gray, and then Colquitt
County High School. In the ninth grade I was a cheerleader and
cheered at the freshman football
games. I love Moultrie and it is a great place to live. I have many
fond memories of growing up in this town.
In December 2001, I had my son Quinten. He is my pride and joy. Quinten
is five years old and he is in Prekindergarten this year at Funston Elementary
in Colquitt County. The picture above was taken when he was ten months
old. Thank goodness he is not this messy anymore!! He is doing well and
he LOVES school!! We have two dogs. We have a peek-a-poo named Daisy
and a Lab named Alley. We stay pretty busy but in our spare time
we like to go to St. George Island.
Quinten can play all day in the sand and the sun while I enjoy reading
and soaking up rays. I have recently gotton engaged to a wonderful guy
named Jay Mims. We plan on getting married some time in September of
2008.
I had to set my education on the back burner
for a while and then in 2002 I started Abraham Baldwin Agricultural
College and graduated from there in 2006. I started Valdosta State University
in the Fall of 06 where I am in the Special Education Early Childhood
Interrelated Program. I will obtain my Master's dergee in 2009. With my
degree I will be certified to teach regular education or special
education.
When I was growing up I worked at my Aunt's daycare. After having
Quinten I went back to work at another local daycare where I worked for
almost four years. I really enjoyed my job and I loved the kids. I
decided to go to school to get my degree in special education because I
felt more drawn to the kids in my class that had special needs. I
wanted these children to be able to participate and do the same things
that the
children without disabilities could do.
