        This page is dedicated to the parents of all my students, past, present and future.  Whether your child needs extra practice in a content area, or you want to enhance what he or she has learned in class, here are some great resources to help.  Together we can make certain that "our" children succeed.  Thank you for all the support you have given me as you child's teacher.

 Math
Math Baseball  - Practice addition and subtraction while playing baseball. Choose easy, medium, hard or superbrain levels.   
Cool Math 4 Kids   - Check out this site's library of cool math games for all ages.  Your child can do jigsaw puzzles, practice fractions, critical thinking practice and many more fun activities. 
Math Baseball   - Practice multiplication and division while playing baseball. Choose easy, medium, hard or superbrain levels.
Ask Dr. Math  - Dr. Math can give students easy answers to some of the most confusing math topics or situations.  He also teaches easy ways to remember math concepts.
Cool Math 4 Kids - This site has games to help children of all ages with their math skills.  My favorite is the lemonade stand. In this game you have to plan and calculate to make your stand the most productive. 
Language Arts
Roberts Munsch-Great Storyteller- Robert Munch is a famous children's author, but he is more widely known for his oral storytelling.  Check out his poems, unpublished stories, send him a letter, and do not miss story time with Robert Munsch, where you can actually hear him tell his stories!!!

Mad Libs Junior - (2nd grade) Fun introductions to parts of speech by creating very silly stories.  Once you think you know the parts of speech try the Wacky Web Tales site for 3rd through 5th graders.
Wacky Web Tales (Parts of Speech Practice)  - If your children likes the Mad Libs books, they will love this site.  It gives them much needed practice with the parts of speech.                 
     
Write Ideas  - Find help for how to write book reports, essays, research papers.  It even has a dictionary, thesaurus and bibliography helper.

Star Fall (Learn to Read)- Your child can get reading and phonics practice at this site.  There is practice for letter recognition, phonics, sight words, and reading stories. Levels-beginning to advanced

Reading Rainbow @ PBS Kids - Play fun games and learn about all kinds of books. Check out the family area for fun activities to do together at home.
Reading Planet - This site has fun stations... Book Zone, Game Station, Activity Lab and much more.  You can rate the books you read or write or illustrate your own work.

Garfield's Reading Ring-  Garfield wrestles while you put the comic strip in the correct sequence and then answer comprehension questions.
Science    Why science matters (for you and your child) - This parent resource page gives you information on how to stay involved to keep science alive in elementary schools.  It also gives you ideas on how to help your child at home.

Science Wizards - A sure way to brew up some interest in science.  This site is packed with science "magic tricks" to amaze everyone.  The site also has online and off-line games and crafts.                       
Yahooligans-Science & Nature - Use this site to research kid safe sites with great science information.

Try Science - Experience adventures, field trips and experiments as these fun games teach about science concepts. My favorite is the Sniff a Snack game, where you learn about Tazmanian Devils.

Culture Quest World Tour- Take a trip to other countries to learn about different cultures.  The site has holidays, games, recipes and many more interesting facts about other cultures.

History for Kids - Explore history all over the world on this webpage of history designed for younger children.     
United States History - This site has trivia, games, and cool facts about U.S. history.

Multiculturalpedia - Explore cultural differences between the U.S. and other countries.  Find out how they play rock-paper-scissiors and more cool facts.

Crayola - Crayola's website offers children opportunities to be creative by designing greeting cards, playing games, and teaching about colors by using fun quizzes and other activities.
Artist's Toolkit - Learn the basic elements of art: line, shapes, color, balance, shape, movement, and space. After you learn about them, this site allows you to create your own art.
Art Games - Learn about the history of the different art movements with these games.  You can learn which artists are a part of each era.

Chunky Monkey Art Page - Go to this page to take drawing lessons.  Learn how to draw very cool cartoons.
Music
Children's Music Web - This page has links to great music sites for kids, parents, and teachers. Try them out.

Kid's Space Music - Click on the piano and go to the music page. Listen to compositions by kids like you, listen to instruments and songs.
Intro to Reading Music - This site teaches you the fundamentals of how to read music. I am going to study this myself!

Arts Alive ~ Music - This site lets you compose your own music. It also lets you listen to clips and guess the composer or the instrument.

Kidnetic - Play games at this site to get some exercise. You can also take a survey or find cool recipes. My nieces loves the scavenger hunt.

Bike Safety - I know how much you like to ride your bicycles. That is great exercise! Please follow these simple rules and tips to stay safe.
BAM - Body and Mind - Explore this page and do the activities to learn how physical activity and nutrition can help keep you from getting sick. Make your own activity calendar.

Kid Fit - Learn how to stay fit with the quizzes and fun exercises on this website.
  Health
Dole 5 a Day - This website has over 15 games on nutrition for kidds.  Take the Dole 5 a Day Challenge or answer a survey and voice your opinions.

Cool Food Planet - This site is a wonderful place to build healthy eating habits in children through fun quizzes and cool facts.
Zip for Tweens - Choose from at least 4 nutrition games, answer surveys, and experiment with fun recipes. Parents check out the Parents Page

Nutrition Cafe' - All of the games I tried were really fun and they teach you how to take care of your body.  Play Grab a Grape (much like Jeopardy), Nutrition Sleuth (similar to Hangman), or enjoy a meal of your choice at the have a bite cafe'.

Extra for Parents and Teachers - Kid Talk - Find answers to the stumper questions that kids come up with. Ex. What are freckles? Why do I shiver? Why does my foot fall asleep?
