Furniture Store Studies
Furniture stores are interesting animals! I liken the experience of going to a local furniture store or to many furniture stores to going to my local car dealership! The salespeople just seem sleazy and uninformed. They just want to make commission off me.
My preference is of course shopping for furniture on the Internet, or at least doing my initial research there. Am I biased because I work for a online furniture store? Perhaps, but mostly because I am an educated consumer now as a result of my experience.
Online Furniture Stores and the Benefits
Shopping for furniture online is my preference because the information you can get there is just so superior. Dimensions, features, benefits and other product information is right there in black and white. It makes it so convenient because I can measure my space right as I am looking at a piece I am considering. If I was at a furniture store locally, I would have to pre-measure it all and try to envision something in my home, it's so much easier when you are already sitting there in your home. This is especially helpful when shopping for a sofa.
Keep in mind sofa sectionals as well, they are very space efficient and allow many people to sit in a smaller location while residing up against a wall in the corner, so they do not take up much room.
Leather furniture has become one of my new favorites. It's hard to beat the feel and warmth of real leather, I love it!
I would like to add that buying from an online furniture store is best when using one of the larger more trusted websites. I have seen so many "little" furniture stores online that just look like some kid threw together the website. Trust me and use a larger company even if you pay a little more.
