Furniture and Office Furniture Studies
Hello there. My name is Dawn Vo and I am an alumni of the University of California Riverside. My studies were in business, and I tended to focus on the furniture industry as well as related industries. After I graduated I went to work for an online furniture store where I am in charge of merchandising.
My job entails making sure the website looks nice and the sections are arranged in a way that promotes buying as well as adding new products to the site.
Why did I choose the furniture industry?
I have always liked furniture and anything to do with interior decorating. I was debating about exterior design like awnings or landscaping, but it was too small of an industry. I decided on furniture, because everyone needs furniture right? Every office needs office furniture and every home needs home furniture, no way around it. Plus it says so much about you personally. How you decorate and design your space says so much about you as a person. Your furniture and home is an extension of yourself and your personality.

Interior decorating does not take a degree, just do your research online and dive into your own wants and needs. Some people think furniture shopping is a daunting task, it does not need to be!
I got a new Dell computer a few days ago only to realize I had no computer desk to put it on! It's funny how those things come to your attention after the fact haha. I saw a cool one online that I ended up getting. But not before I saw a loft bunk bed that had a computer desk on the underneath side, that one was very cool!
