In 1995, I graduated
from Lone
Grove High
School in Lone
Grove Oklahoma. After moving to Georgia in 1997,
I began working as a child care provider at
Mother’s Love Day Care in Tifton, where I enjoyed working with a
variety of age
groups.Currently a junior at Valdosta State University,
I am working
my way towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education, as well as, a
Master’s
Degree in Special Education. Prior to my
attendance at VSU, also I spent time as a part-time student at Abraham
Baldwin University
before completing my Associate’s Degree there in Spring of 2006.

Being the oldest of six
siblings and several cousins
provided me with numerous opportunities to work with small
children.
In fact, the better part of my adolescence
was spent changing diapers and “mothering” the younger children within
my
family. I spent large amounts of time on
my family’s farm in Oklahoma
and still enjoy being around animals of all kind, especially
horses.
I also enjoyed traveling with my grandmother
to exciting places like Las Vegas, the Bahamas, and Philadelphia.
But my favorite
places remain my native states of Okahoma and Kansas, surrounded by
childhood memories. Click on the photos below for links to many
of the exciting places from my childhood.
During my childhood, my
favorite pastime was reading as
often as possible! A lover of music, I
participated in both vocal music and band throughout my years in
school.
As a young teenager, I discovered a genuine
love for language, which I expressed through continued reading and
writing of
short stories and poetry. I also have a
strong passion for historical knowledge of any kind.
In fact, my friends often tease me about
being a nerd! Click on the photos below for links to some of my
favorite places and things.
