Amanda's
Adventurous School Days By Amanda
Calhoun
Hi,
my name is Amanda Calhoun. I am currently a
junior at Valdosta
State University in the Early
Childhood Education program. I transferred to VSU from Bainbridge College.
I will hopefully complete my degree in December 2006. One day I hope to
teach either Pre-K or Kindergarten in the Georgia Public School
System.
I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, Kevin. I also like to
spend
time with my friends and family. I am a huge Georgia Bulldog fan. I
love to go to Athens to watch the football games. In my spare time I
enjoy photography. I also like to go the New Life
Learning Center when I am at home and paint. I love to shop! I
like music and I love to go to concerts. I went to the Gretchen Wilson and Big
and Rich concert in Columbus, Georgia this past November and had a
blast. Another great concert that I attended was the Alabama Farewell Tour
this past March in Tallahassee, Florida. I have also seen Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and 3
Doors Down. In the summer I enjoy
going to Lake Seminole
with my friends and riding the inter tube, as well as just riding the
boat to the Flint River and to the Chattahoochee River.
I am from Colquitt,
Georgia,
a very small town in the Southwest corner of Georgia. I have
lived there my whole life and I absolutely love it! It is a very
interesting and neat town. Colquitt is home to
Georgia's official folk life play, Swamp
Gravy. It is also home
to the National Mayhaw Festival, the historic Tarrer Inn, the Henny
Penny Production Company, and the Miller County Newspaper,
my favorite newspaper. Since Colquitt is so close to the Florida coast
I visit Panama
City Beach as often as I can. There's nothing more relaxing than a
day on the beach.
