Today was the first day of summer vacation. Mom asked Dee and Darian where would they like to go for summer vacation. Dee answered, “Six flags.” Darian said, “to the beach.” Mom told the boys they could only go to one place. The family had a vote to decide where to go. Mom, Dad, and Darian voted to go to the beach. Dee voted to go to Six Flags. “The beach it is, you are out numbered,” yelled Darian!
Everyone started packing for the beach trip, except Dee. Dee did not want to go to the beach because he could not swim. Mom told Dee that he would have fun and that everything would be all right. Darian said to Dee, “There are many things to do at the beach.” We can fly Frisbees, play volleyball, make sand castles, and have oceans of fun.” Dee felt better about going to the beach.
The
family went to the beach. While flying
the Frisbee, it landed in the lap of a lifeguard. The lifeguard
asked the boys, “Why aren’t you
boys swimming?” Dee said, “I don’t know
how to swim. The nice lifeguard said, “I
can fix that.” He taught Dee how to swim in a few lessons. Dee
swam the remainder of the vacation. Every summer after that one
Dee wants to go
to the beach on vacation.
