WVVS-FM is Valdosta State University’s student radio station. We receive our funding from student activity fees, so the station is available to any currently enrolled VSU student. Our purpose is twofold: to provide alternative programming to Valdosta and the surrounding area, and to provide all interested VSU students with training to work in the radio industry.

BlazeFM signed on the air for the first time on July 26th, 1971. The station’s frequency is 90.9 FM. Since 1979 we have been broadcasting at 5300 watts. BlazeFM can be heard up to 25 miles from the station studio and offices, which are located on the second floor of the University Union. Our format music includes alternative and urban, but we also have a number of special shows.
