Barry Jones, VANS Website Director and Newsletter Editor |
My name is Barry Jones and I am the Website and Newsletter Director for the Valdosta Association of Nursing Students. I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. My father was military and as a result, we moved around quite a bit while I was young. I had the opportunity to move to places such as Germany, and other various places throughout the United States. I am the oldest of seven children with the youngest being 2 years old. I am currently a Senior II at Valdosta State University College of Nursing. I not only serve VANS as the website and newsletter director, but also serve the state executive board of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students as the EKG (Exciting News about GANS) Committee Co-Chair and NEC South. After graduation, I intend to pursue a career in the uniformed services as an Army Nurse, where I will earn critical care experience in pursuit of my graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia. Please join me and the rest of our great board as we promote the profession and image of nursing! Welcome to Valdosta State and welcome to a great College of Nursing! Thank you! |

Shanta Bunkley, VANS Treasurer |
My name is Shanta Bunkley and I am a 22 year old senior 2 student in the college of nursing. I am from Columbus, Georgia and I have attended VSU for my entire college career. Being the treasurer of this great organization is a pleasure. I am honored that my fellow classmates perceive me as a honest person that can keep up with important financial obligations and keep good records. VANS has great potential this next semester but we can't do it without the people that really matter, the students. I encourage all nursing students, no matter your classification, to get involved and be a part of VANS history. Thank you! |
