Physics (PHYS)  

PHYS 1111K-1112K General Physics I, II (3-2-4 each) 

  • Pre- or corequisite for PHYS 1111: MATH 1113. Prerequisite for PHYS 1112: PHYS 1111. An introductory course which will include material from mechanics, thermodynamics, and waves in PHYS 1111, and electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics in PHYS 1112. Elementary algebra and trigonometry will be used. Three lecture hours and one two-hour laboratory per week.
PHYS 2211K-2212K Calculus-Based Physics I, II (3-2-4 each)
     
  • Pre- or corequisite for PHYS 2211: MATH 2261. Prerequisite for PHYS 2212: PHYS 2211. An introductory course which will include material from mechanics, thermodynamics, and waves in PHYS 2211, and electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics in PHYS 2212. Elementary differential calculus will be used in PHYS 2211; elementary differential and integral calculus will be used in PHYS 2212. Three lecture hours and one two-hour laboratory per week.
